Beverly Caulking began in 1961, after brothers Dave and Allen Rams immigrated to Canada. Eager to find jobs to support their families, they were happy to take jobs as caulkers. It didn’t take them long to see there was a market for their skills.
These excerpts from a letter written by Dave and Allen provide insight into their journey as caulkers and business owners:
“Not many people grow up dreaming that one day they are going to be a caulker.
It is not romantic. It can be dirty, uncomfortable work. Cold in the winter. Hot in the summer. Scary at times. Hanging around 300 feet in the air on a windy day is not everyone’s idea of a good time. However, we at Beverly Caulking, take what we do very seriously. We have always believed caulking is a critical part of the industry, and as a result, being a Beverly Caulker is something of merit. Caulking to us, is not merely a trade. It is an art.”
“We caulked the Penstocks at the Sir Adam Beck Generating Station in the Niagara Gorge, the Nuclear Power Plants in the Bruce Peninsula, Atikokan and Pickering. We have caulked almost every Sewage Treatment Plant on the shores of Lakes Ontario and Erie. From The “Skydome” to commercial towers in Alberta and Nova Scotia, we have caulked the equivalent of a twenty storey building every 2.5 days.
We have caulked enough houses, townhouses and apartment buildings to house the entire City of Hamilton.”

The Beverly Caulking team values community and social responsibility. Beverly Caulking is the main sponsor of Socks for Hope, a non-profit organization that collects socks for people experiencing homelessness and hardship in Hamilton and Halton Region, Ontario.
Beverly Caulking and Socks for Hope recently shared the heartwarming story of Elisabeth, a Burlington kindergarten student. For her sixth birthday, Elisabeth set a goal to collect and donate socks. With the support of her friends and classmates, Elisabeth donated 239 pairs to Socks for Hope. Wonderful! Way to go, Elisabeth! Beverly Caulking is also a supporter of a number of charitable organizations.
